Dear Prospective Sony Ericsson Open Volunteer 2010,Thank you for your interest in joining our 2010 volunteer team. If you are one of the many returning volunteers, we would like to thank you for helping make the 2009 Tournament the best ever in the twenty-five year history of the event. If you are volunteering for the first time, we hope you are excited to work behind the scenes at one of the world’s most prestigious tennis events. We are happy to have you as part of our team!
The Sony Ericsson Open maintains its status as one of the most glamorous events on tour and this past year’s event was definitely the place to be seen in Miami. The list of celebrities attending the tournament was like a who’s who in the entertainment and sports industries which provided global coverage for the tournament. An unbeatable atmosphere and the best tennis players in the world on display made the tournament one to remember.
We have over 900 volunteers and offer many different opportunities and positions that will allow you to watch tennis while you work along side a great group of people. As a Volunteer you will receive the following benefits:
• FILA UNIFORM – Two Tournament t-shirts, a jacket and a hat. Please provide your own khaki shorts or slacks to complement your uniform.
• COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS – Ten tickets for Stadium Court with seat assignments to the following dates:
o 2 Tickets, level 400 Stadium Court Wednesday, March 24 night session
o 2 Tickets, level 400 Stadium Court Thursday, March 25 day session
o 2 Tickets, level 400 Stadium Court Sunday, March 28 night session
o 2 Tickets, level 400 Stadium Court Monday, March 29 night session
o 2 Tickets, level 400 Stadium Court Wednesday, March 31 day session
• PHOTO CREDENTIAL – With access to Stadium Court seating on select days and unlimited access to all other courts.
• MEAL COUPONS – For each shift worked. $9 per shift / $18 maximum per day.
• FREE PARKING – At Marine Stadium with a shuttle on days you are working.
• GREAT GIFTS FROM OUR SPONSORS
In return we ask the following Commitment from you:
• A minimum of NINE (9) SHIFTS OF FIVE - SIX HOURS each. (you may double up your shifts to commit to fewer days)
• Attend a training session for the volunteer area you choose. You will be notified of time and date and are required to attend.
• Give 12 shifts by Thursday, April 1, and you will be rewarded with two tickets to a Women’s Semi-Final day OR night session on Thursday, April 1.
• Give 14 shifts by Thursday, April 1, and you will be rewarded with two tickets to a Men’s Semi-Final day OR night session on Friday, April 2, in addition to the two Women’s Semi-Finals tickets.
• Give 16 shifts by Thursday, April 1 and you will be rewarded with two tickets to the Women’s Finals on Saturday, April 3, in addition to the two tickets for a Women’s and Men’s Semi-Final session.
NOTE: All additional shifts MUST be completed by April 1 to receive reward tickets.
As you can see, we offer a comprehensive reward package because we appreciate your work and commitment. The Tournament could not run without you. So whether you are coming back for the twenty-sixth time or are on board for the first, we look forward to seeing you March 22 – April 4 at the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open.
