The Sony Ericsson Open continued its commitment to the community. With the help of Arcor, the sponsors of the annual kid's day, more than 2,200 students from 28 schools in Dade county and the surrounding area were treated to a day of tennis. The day began on the court with tennis instruction from Sony Ericsson WTA  Tour players Alona and Kateryna Bondarenko and ATP Tour players Max Mirnyi and Victor Hanescu. The children were able to ask each of the players questions after they hit around. Barilli, Head Penn, FILA and the USTA provided give-aways to the kids in attendance. After learning about the game, the students were spent the rest of the day at the Sony Ericsson Open enjoying some tennis matches and the ambiance of the tennis site.
