Lending a helping hand in the community, the Sony Ericsson Open continued its commitment to community efforts in South Florida. On Thursday, March 27, the Sony Ericsson Open, Sony Ericsson WTA Tour player, Nadia Petrova and ATP Tour player Ivan Ljubicic painted a house in Little Haiti for a needy family. Students from Taylor University in Indiana, who were on spring break, pitched in with the building of the home. Petrova and Ljubicic took a break from painting to meet and interact with Meprina Lohier, a Haitian native and recipient of the home, and her three children. Petrova has been an ambassador for Habitat for Humanity for over two years and has helped build homes in Romania and the United States. |
